almost perfect
Overall the trip was excellent. Your ‘expedition team’ are to be commended. Their knowledge and passion shone through and it was a privilege and a pleasure to travel with them. Great boat too.
Suggestions for improvement:
The arrival back at Punta Arenas could have been handled better. At the airport or on the bus it would have been nice if someone had welcomed us and asked if we had had a good time. It was evening by the time we got back and we felt a bit jaded after the delays and a bit sad that the trip was ending. A cheery greeting would have lifted spirits and made us feel like valued clients for a little longer.
To celebrate crossing the circle we had hot chocolate with Baileys – a sickly sweet concoction. Cognac or rum would have been much better. Perhaps give a choice in future.
The wake up music in the mornings was a bit strange, I was expecting a little Mozart, or some gentle Latin jazz. Not sure what we got, it sounded like some North American country music. (actually I was always up on deck well before the wake-up call so it wasn’t really much of an issue).
Sharing photos is a great idea in theory but it didn’t work too well. I could not get the PC to read my cards and wasn’t prepared to risk trying the MAC in case it affected the formatting (Paranoia? Yes, but it was the trip of a life time).
Also with digital the way people compose shots has changed as many people crop at the editing stage and there wasn’t time for this during the trip. In addition the newer cameras now have photoquality video recording and I imagine that selecting the perfect still shot from them takes quite a while.
It would be nice to have to option to share once we got home. Either uploading to your website/cloud (although someone would need to curate/manage the site), or let us share the links to where we put our pictures.
