Helpful, Reasonably Priced

Very helpful and reasonably priced. Would be great if the helmet database included more helmets.

Valuable Service

Very good service. For obvious reasons the number of helmets included in the report is limited, but there are a sufficient number to give an idea of which of a manufacturer's sizes are likely to fit you. The specific helmet I bought was not included in the report. However there were sufficient other models from the manufacturer included that I got an idea of what size might work. The LidPicker report and the manufacturer's website suggested a Large for my measurements. The large was way too tight. I returned it for an XL which is perfect. It is sufficiently tight that it will likely fit perfectly once it is worn in. This is not to say that the LidPicker service is wrong. All heads are different, even with the same measurement. I think the LidPicker service is very valuable in narrowing down the search for a new lid and I would use it again.

Great service, wish they had LS2 helmets in their database.

Lid picker helped me learn what helmets are most likely to fit me. Due to my long oval head, there are only a few helmets that work well for me. However, I was disappointed by the lack of coverage of LS2 helmets in particular, since this brand appears to have a few models that work for long ovals like me. I also suspect that another datapoint that needs to be considered is cheekbone width or something along those lines after some experiences with an HJC RPHA 90s. They categorize it as round-ish. Revzilla categorizes it as long oval. While it does not fit me (confirming that revzilla's rating does not capture my fit) I suspect this helmet, strangely would fit rounder heads or long oval but narrow cheekbone heads, but not long oval, wide cheekbones, like me. Since this service is most likely to be used by people who have trouble finding helmets, I can't overstate the value of emphasizing that they should have as much data as possible for models and brands at the outer edges of the bell curve. In the end, even with the available data, I was able to learn a lot about what works for me and, for now, I have postponed my purchase decision until I can try a neotec II in person, which is probably the *only* modular that might fit me.

Good but still some trial and error required

Decided on a Nolan helmet based on the LidPicker report. Report suggested Med and Large would both fit me, with slightly better fit with the Med. Ordered the Med and was way too small. Had to return it for a Large and it is a great fit. So in the end a success, but not 1st pass. Was also disappointed the report did not cover the HJC RPHA helmets. Barring an opportunity to try on lots of helmets at a store, I recommend this service.

Helpful, but no panacea.

It was helpful to get a general size/shape recommendations. However, for me and my large head, I found the "Ideal" recommendations to be way too tight, and the next size up to still be too snug to be an all day helmet. Lid Picker certainly helped zero in on a helmet, but there is no substitute for actually trying it on.
