After receiving my report, I walked into a store and was able to buy the first helmet I tried on. This saved me time and infection risk. The pictures of how to measure the head could be clearer. There could be a metric option for measurements. But these are nitpicks.

The report confirmed that my

The report confirmed that my head is more round than not, so I gave up on all of those intermediate oval helmets that I liked. I ended up with that and Arai Quantum X and the decision making was a lot easier.

Gave me direction but newer helmets is needed.

The supplied sheet gave me good direction on size and shape. The indicated helmets did fit me well. I do wish updated helmets were included, though. The list is a little old (Nov 2020).

Useful information (but not the final decision-maker)

Definitely useful to get a survey of seemingly every helmet on the market. I especially appreciate the detail about whether you are in the middle of a size range or might get caught between sizes. I found the simple "ideal / slightly wrong / too wrong" categorization a bit misleading. I have some helmets that were labeled as "too round" but are still very comfortable to wear. I don't know if there is a way to factor cheek pads or liner thickness into the size rating. For such a small amount of money (relative to buying a helmet), LidPicker was still a nice piece of information to add to my buying process. It would be helpful if this report was offered in different formats, e.g. an Excel spreadsheet for easier sorting/filtering of options.

Satisfied

I used the LidPicker for the first time when it came time to replace my Shoei Neotec. I wanted to evaluate other options that may fit without visiting lots of shops. Unfortunately, my head size doesn't appear to be a great fit with a lot of other modular helmets, so in the end I chose a Neotec II. But the LidPicker showed me my previous helmet was probably a bit oversized for me. I stepped down a size (from M to S), and the Neotec II now provides a firm, safe fit.
