Bike took 3 months to work
When my bike arrived, it did not work. I had just sold my lectric brand e bike and was very excited for an upgrade. I solely rely on my bike to get to and from work in NYC because I can't take public transport.
I tried emailing Ariel and was very anxious to find out why my bike didn't work. A few days went by no response. I tried calling and was very upset to find out you cannot call and speak to a person( which is no problem with lectric bikes).
Finally I got an email asking me to check things on my bike. Long story short I got one email a day if I was lucky. Extremely slow and no urgency to get me going. After over a week of no solution and more requests to take pictures of my bike and a take it apart, I was fed up and lost patience. At this point they finally offered me to send the part back for diagnosis.
They said they found no problem, sent it back to me, and I had to go get the motor installed professionally because it was very difficult to do alone. The bike actually worked for the first time in over a month since I bought it. That's about how long it took to get the new part sent back since my first email. After 2 miles the bike broke down again.
I had to repeat this process of sending parts back, getting them back, for the bike to just work and break down again after 2 miles. 3 months later they finally decided to send me a new controller and motor and I had them both installed. The problem for me is that this took 3 months . I had to spend time, money, and grueling stress to receive some of the slowest and unhelpful customer service I've ever received in my life. I hate to leave this bad review, but I have to be honest.
My bike is workin now, but also making weird noises from the motor and now I'm worried it will break again. I really want to like this company but from my experience it's scary to be a customer from them, because you're gonna have to work very hard just to get what you need when you need it. To this day it feels very unfair some customers received their bikes working fine, meanwhile I had 3 months of hell trying to just get what I paid for to work. Ariel did help me with some money to pay for the bike to be serviced, but not the full amount I spent. For what I dealt with I wish they would have offered me some free stuff, comps, or a formal apology or phone call from a high up to show they care.
