I transferred a student loan from UAS to Commonbond/Firstmark back in May, and UAS sent an a check to Commonbond back in late June. After a few attempts to get Firstmark to apply the money to my account, it was finally determined that I should have contacted Commonbond (VERY confusing!). The money still has not been applied to my account.

I've had a relatively good experience with Commonbond. The application through approval process was pretty easy, and the rates were good. The only issue I've had is that commonbond overpaid my previous loan servicer, was repaid by the previous servicer, and did not credit me for the repayment. I have tried hard to get firstmark to resolve this, but they have not.

CommonBond offered a very competitive loan rate, and every time I had to get in touch with them throughout the application process, I found every person at CommonBond to be very friendly and helpful. However, the process itself was very long, tedious, and required me to enter some of the same information and sign the same forms multiple times. The total process took over a month - so if they could improve and streamline that side of things, it would be a 5-star rating.
