2019 ProcureCon | Austin

I gained insights on most of the sessions I attended. The space needs to be enlarged. It was tight, uncomfortable and awkward. It did not enjoy sitting at round tables especially with the chairs push around one side of the table. I would also appreciate electrical to plug in my laptop for notes.

Marketing Vendor Manager

Conference provided good networking opportunities and the food was incredible. Presentations were hit/miss - some panels didn't focus on the topics that were presented as the theme, and overall the conference seemed to be more heavily focused on procurement vs. marketing which made it a little more challenging for those with a more heavily-focused marketing role/background.

Strategic Sourcing Manager

I had a great time at the conference and thoroughly enjoyed the networking and panels. I think in the future it would be nice if we could enter what we want to gain knowledge on and be paired up with someone who has previous history in the area. If you could match more evolved sourcing departments with the less evolved, it would be beneficial. Also, it would be nice to be able to access templates if others were willing to share them.

Better than anticipated

Thank you for organizing this years ProcureCon Marketing event in Austin. This was my first year attending and based on other conferences I have attended I had low expectations. By the end I felt that the first day exceeding those expectations with honest discussions, conversations and clear tips on how to better manage marketing procurement. I gained most value from the transparent conversations had during the networking breaks. Areas that I believe could be worked on is less sales pitches, many of the sessions deviated from process or theory recommendations to suppliers/tools to onboard. Also many of the breakout sessions were too short to walk away with any value, 30-minutes was not sufficient to discuss CPG marketing. On a more personal note, it was challenging to participate in offsite events or lunch due to diet restrictions. I had to fend for myself for all meals since there were no vegan options. Hope to attend next years conference in Seattle.
