Good meeting but could have been better

The NGPX meeting brought together an impressive gathering of leaders in the patient experience world. Most of the talks were quite good and the speakers and workshops were largely engaging. However, the meeting has become incredibly corporate. With such a large presence of industry and so many of the talks discussing products, it is critical that the speakers disclose their financial relationships.

San Diego conference

Overall, the conference attendees were a great group and a wonderful opportunity for networking. So many nice people. I think the vendor interaction was a bit too heavy--calls and emails galore prior to the event. The format of the sessions was generally good. I liked the 20 minute presentations.

The vendor selection and offering

The vendor selection and offering seemed very current generation vs. next generation.

Not Completely What I Expected

I thought the conference was interesting. I have never been to a conference where there where so many keynote speakers/presentations. Some of them were very good with new and thought provoking information; some were just a review of the tactics we know work but have a hard time getting staff to utilize. I did have some takeaways from the conference and have already shared them with my leaders. I was a bit disappointed in the fact that some of the presentations were so early in their work that they didn't have any results data supporting the implementation of their new actions or processes. Other conferences I have attended usually have as criteria at least 6 mths to a year's sustained improvement/results. Something to consider for this conference. Also, I wasn't crazy about the breaks and breakfast being in the vendor area. It was difficult to move about with food and drink and to find a spot to sit and eat. Please be more conscientious about time, the majority of presentations went over their allotted time and that made for long mornings without breaks. Keep in mind that adult learners do need more than one break in the AM and PM. I think you lost a lot of people because they created their own break times.

Longer keynotes and more in

Longer keynotes and more in depth analysis of some topics would have been valuable. more physician attendance and perspective would have been valuable.
