The 20 minute time slots

The 20 minute time slots allowed us to see lots of different models and ideas but not enough time to understand the details.

This year's conference, while an improvement over last year, was still a little more vendor-centric than I'd like. I don't get a lot from vendors who present or host round table discussions. If I am looking for a tech solution, I can visit the Solutions Zone to see what's out there. I don't think vendors should take 15-20 minutes to present. I think this time would be better spent diving deeper into topics like how Lara Burnside and JPS Health Network achieved physician engagement in patient experience or how Vanderbilt successfully navigated their transition to EPIC. I prefer to hear from people working in hospitals or healthcare systems. We're inundated daily with tech "solutions" while many of us are still working on building a strong foundation for creating a patient experience.

First Time Attendee

I liked the short sessions and the amount of information. It covered quite a bit of information but made for some long days of sitting in one spot (for the most part.) I did feel at times that some of the sessions felt like an "infomerical" for some of the sponsors. Having spent most of my healthcare career in I/P I found the sessions good and interesting; however, I'm now in the clinic/medical group setting and would've loved to see/hear more on the clinic/medical group side. We met one other person from a medical group and that was wonderful. We made a great connection with her. Please think about adding more as it relates to medical groups/outpatient settings. You could attract a whole new group of professionals by including those in medical groups. For many of our health systems, the medical groups are the starting place for the patient experience. We did enjoy the size of the gatherings and felt like you really got to interact with others. It was a great networking opportunity. The accommodations and the grounds were beautiful.

Would have liked more time

Would have liked more time to ask questions at the end of each of the presentations. While the venue was beautiful, the walk from the hotel to the conference center was somewhat difficult for folks who have problems walking long distances and/or up and down hills.

Disappointed

Overall I found the conference disappointing. The 3rd day was great, but the 1st and 2nd days felt like sales pitches from vendors. Way too much focus on purchasing new technology and not enough focus on the true patient experience and human touch
