Tequila anero fine et subtile avec des notes fruitées et herbacées. Une bouche équilibrée, typique et chaleureuse. On n'est pas sur une premium mais pour le prix, ça tiens la route. Et on est sur du 100% agave.

Jolie surprise de cette petite île des Antilles. Les rhums de ste Lucie rappel les profils jamaicain avec une rondeur en plus. Comparaison intéressante des deux alambics John dore et Vendôme.

You would think that at such a low price there can't be much good to report on this rum. But you would be wildly mistaken. Unlike many cheap rums that have a questionable taste, the El Dorado dark rum has more than a hint of flavour that its far more expensive estate companions are famous for. So it seems likely that the same distilling and storage process is observed. It is not overly sweet, nor has it got that methylated spirit type taste of white rum. A hint of oak with a touch of candy flavour would be close description. It's surprisingly very pleasant on its own, especially if you pour it over a tall glass filled to the bring with ice cubes. A light touch of something like Coke softens some of the rough edge if required. A knock out party and BBQ drink to keep the spirits flowing, without breaking the bank. I have paid twice as much or more for rums that come nowhere near the pleasant taste of this El Dorado.
