Cannot recommend: Damaged on arrival, inconsistent customer service
I was very disappointed by my experience with Hidden Botanics Weddings. The situation started with a damaged product, and the staff have now ghosted me after previously promising my refund would arrive upon receipt of the flowers' return. I have reported the charge to my credit card provider and received a refund through them instead.
1. The shipment: I was very surprised upon receipt of my Hidden Botanics package. The box seemed small for a bridal bouquet and nine custom matching items (2 wrist corsages, 7 boutonnieres and 1 groom's boutonniere). There were no "fragile" markings on the box containing dried flowers.
2. The bouquet: I ordered "Colourful Dried Flowers Bridal Bouquet - Sunset Orange & Yellow", in part because I was drawn to the life and dimension shown in the listing. Even though the bouquet was not loose or falling apart, the arrived bouquet was clearly damaged, almost flattened. Individual flowers located in the center of the bouquet appeared inconsistently damaged - some yarrow flowers would be fully shaped, next to completely crushed or flattened yarrow and eucalyptus. The more delicate flowers, like feverfew, were goners. I used the 7-day window to bring the flowers to a 3rd party who works with dried flowers. Her opinion was that these flowers were irrevocably damaged and the bouquet could not be saved. We suspect, due to the inconsistent damage to the flowers in the center of the bouquet, that this is not a matter of shipping damage. None of the other dried flower items showed damage, and the box showed no significant damage on arrival.
3. Customer service: I contacted Hidden Botanics and requested a full refund of my complete order ($268), and an exception to the restocking fee due to the condition of the arrival. They initially told me my request was outside of the 7-day window, but when I sent a screenshot of my delivery receipt through the Shop App, they agreed and told me a refund would come upon receipt of the flowers.
4. Return process: I shipped all items to Hidden Botanics. I paid for tracking from the postal service and provided the shipment tracking number to Hidden Botanics via email, as they requested. After a few weeks I checked the shipment status and found that the package was reported delivered. On July 13, I emailed Hidden Botanics inquiring on a status update of the package delivery and the status of my refund. I have not heard anything from them. I have now reported the charge to my credit card and received a refund.
I wish I could recommend the flowers, as the color was still vibrant and the smell was amazing, but I cannot recommend the company's service at all.
