Tortuga

My wife and I bought Tortugas in an effort to change the way we pack on our frequent international trips. We just got back from several weeks in Egypt and Jordan, and so far I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The bag is well-constructed and much better looking and less conspicuous than other backpacks we've owned - our transfer agents and porters in Egypt were continually baffled when we showed up with so little luggage! We're both very feminine and definitely don't like to compromise on how we dress when abroad, and we had no issues at all with the Tortugas and matching packing cubes. I fit four pairs of pants, leggings, four shirts, two tank tops, and two outer layers, plus an extra pair of flats, makeup and brushes, a hair straightener, a full set of toiletries and skin care items, and jewelry with no problem at all. Packing light didn't feel like a compromise at all, and keeping our stuff organized and finding things at a glance and on the go were so easy. I would definitely recommend using the packing cubes. They were a perfect fit and kept my stuff pretty wrinkle-free even when I crammed them full to bursting. We both used one large and one small one and put other small bags into the remaining area, and it was perfect. I really couldn't be happier with my purchase; the bag was everything I hoped it would be. Also, my wife is 5'3" and shorter than the recommended height for the bag, but she didn't have any problems just using the waist belt and tightening the shoulder straps all the way. She found that to be enough support to stay comfortable.

This is made well. We bought backpack-style carry-on size luggage for our upcoming trip to Africa. We were advised to bring carry-on, no wheels. These seem perfect. I tried mine on and, as a 5'7" woman this fits fine. We reviewed a LOT and chose Tortuga for the reports of quality and customer service. I'd like to remember to post a second review after we return!

I like the bag but only complaint is that it's hard to stand it up when sitting down in airports, lounges, etc or anywhere really. It always topples/slides flat and takes up a lot of room, ie people could trip on it.

This backpack is amazing. Great construction, handy pockets, and still fits carry on requirements. So far I've taken it to Arizona and Costa Rica. Look out Iceland!

I honestly loved it, and it was so easy to use. Unfortunately, right after the trip, my tortuga was stolen, along with all the several things that I packed in it from the trunk of my car while I had grabbed dinner. Despite my sob store: It was durable, easy to use, and spacious that it packed all my clothes, several electronic devices, and souvenirs for over a week. It was so useful that I had everything in it, which turned out to be a pitfall (due to no fault of the product). I would 100% recommend this to any traveler that wants to invest in 1 solid backpack that can be reused for travel in the future. There are cheaper backpacks that might serve your cause, but this is comfortable to walk with and carry 100% of your trip (in case you are staying at hostels/backpacking). Maybe in another 5 years I might invest another since it was so useful! Thank you for making such a great product. Sincerely, Gurpal
