Small, compact, functional, simple and—as such—less can go wrong. The 9-watt speakers give surprisingly good sound—and enough sound! I spent—a year ago—2.5X the price of this unit, and I prefer this one. There is not a volume control (just a “mute” button) on the remote, the only disappointment. Since 2004, I have had many stereo systems and I do not think there is a better deal (and I don’t like that term) possible, unless one pays 4X the cost of this unit.
