Sense identifies appliances in our home, but it has not yet identified all of them after over a year. I wish there was a way to force it to look for new items. It has been great for the appliances it has identified to tell when they are on, and how much power they use.

So far, we've been very happy with our Sense. It was very easy to install, and it's providing some additional actionable insight into our power consumption. We originally selected Sense because of the Power Quality feature they're currently experimenting with. We have occasional brownouts as well as a power quality issue caused by our inverter-based heat pump. Unfortunately, the feature hasn't helped with these issues, but given its "Sense Labs" experimental status, I can't really fault them for that.

decent data analysis start. the overhype on identifying loads is bogus since the only way to accurately identify loads is for the owner to correlate a specific load with a duration so some simple waveform signature can be logged. keep on guessing, but at least let users identify signatures.

App was slow in finding new devices in the beginning then there was a improvement, now we are back to slow.

Machine learning has a long way to go. With no ability to override Sense by using human intelligence we are at the mercy of the machines and while they are doing the best they can there is a lot of trouble even with things already located. My Tesla charging for example, despite using the same voltage and charge rate it is often picked up as “other” and because it uses a lot of power I often do not know how much without using other apps to tell me, and there is no smart 220 outlet I know of. Many of my devices have to be connected to smart plugs.
