Decent product, terrible shopping experience
Bought a HumanTouch chair as a gift for my husband directly from the website, thinking that would be the best way to go, since we live at least 1.5 hours from any stores that carry them. It appeared a return would be easy if we had any issues, & product reviews were so stellar we didn't expect issues. Unfortunately the chair did not work at all for him. The biggest problem is that the footrest never fully comes in, so you can't really sit in the chair upright - you have to recline it to be comfortable in it. No one mentioned that in any of the reviews or on the website. He wanted a chair for reclining, but also something he could sit in with a plate of food on his lap to eat dinner. That's impossible in the original chair we got. After I watched him avoid the chair and use the couch instead for two weeks, I contacted HumanTouch about a return. Sure - no problem, but in addition to disassembling/repacking the chair, we then had to pay a restocking fee as well as the shipping. I forget what those fees exactly came to, but it was definitely upwards of $1000. Only get a chair from website if you are 100% sure you want it. It was a costly mistake. I do not recommend doing what we did!!
