The fasteners I was sent were plastic and would permanently mount the shutters to the house. My existing shutters have metal screws with painted heads which were perfect as I occasionally removed the shutters to clean behind them. Perfect Shutters told me that I had a choice in ordering different types. I don't recall seeing that option when I placed the order Perfect Shutters is mailing me the metal screws

Note in the product description that these are 'component built'. While you can get the size you want and need, the tradeoff is that the shutters are not one piece, rather several pieces made or cut to size to get to your custom size. The pieces are stapled together. They hang like other vinyl shutters and from a distance, if properly installed, don't look too bad - nor do they look real great either. I am concerned about longevity and durability given the several pieces used to make one shutter, (and being in Michigan the heaving from freezing and thawing... time will tell. I am also concerned about bees given the several openings they will have to get behind the shutters. Again time will tell. A bit expensive for the custom size, if you can make the standard size work - I would suggest it for the one piece nature of the construction if nothing else.

Everything was fine, except for the fact that the # plaques were incorrect for the double mailbox. Even though the written order was correct. Also, the first time I called the person could not answer my questions and his supervisor was supposed to call me back, but did not. So I had to call again. This time the service was very good.

products seems flimsy. Easy to hang. Looks nice on house. Time will tell how they hold up.
