Great food, bad website

The food is good but the website is very difficult to navigate and has terrible UX. I had numerous difficulties with the subscription, like not getting emails when my box shipped or arrived. If I tried to take advantage of a sale or discount, it would start a new subscription instead of using my existing subscription, so I ended up with multiple subscriptions. I use subscriptions from MANY different companies and have had the most trouble with this one.

Chicken wings fly away

I was pretty disappointed because I filled up my cart with all of the things I wanted, and when I went to check out, the checkout wouldn’t work. I opened up the page in a new window, and the whole menu had shifted leaving the things that I really wanted unavailable but I bought a bunch of stuff anyways so I could get the deal. I guess the chicken wings really flew off the shelves…

Bad Shipping Practices Compromise Food Safety

I’ve been a loyal and grateful customer since 2020. Over the past year I’ve noticed several disappointing changes that have caused me concern over the food safety. Mainly, it seems that the company is trying to cut corners on safe shipping practices. Over the past few months have received thawed and unsafe food items because of poor packaging. Most recently, I was promised extra dry ice in a package after over half the items were thawed and well above the 41 degree safe food consumption temperature (I invested in a point thermometer because I had so many thawed food items so frequently and got sick for two days after consuming one with their “if it’s cold to the touch it’s fine.”) My replacement box came again with only two packs of dry ice and two bags of totally melted regular bags of ice that significantly compromise the box structure leading to greater external temperature impact to the contents. When I raised this concern with the customer service about packaging not being adequate to keep the food cold, I was told to buy their “Paleo protection” for extra, even through it’s specifically only for lost, damaged, or stolen packages and does not address poor packing to maintain the frozen food and prevent thawing. Please take the quality of your shipping more seriously and add more dry ice and stop using loose bags of ice that melt.
