I have installed an APC
I have installed an APC UPS model BR1500MS2 and connected my PC, modem, router, Vonage VoIP box, cordless phone base, printer, and USB hub to it. Since then I experienced just one short power outage and the UPS performed flawless. Prior to installing my UPS I always lost my vonage service during power outages even if they just lasted for a second or so. This problem is now fixed. However, I cannot check for updates of the PowerChute software even though I enabled software update notifications. My firewall also allows for Powerchute.exe but when I click on "check for updates", the Powerchute interface tells me to check my internet connection and try again. I have contacted APC to find out the reason for this message but I am not aware of any issues with my internet service. Waiting for an answer.
