Great idea, missing instructions
The Good:
The system is a great approach for those who need an automatic door, regardless of yourself or your animals who need outside access when you are away. Also, it's much more durable and sleek vs. the bulky, crappy window inserts or worse, holes you have to put in your wall(s). Quick door response, smart add ons, and some of the best customer service I've ever experienced (e.g., they actually call you back if the call is dropped!)
The issues:
- the instructions were written in a controlled, ideal environment, therefore if you don't have the exact dimensions, specifications, door jams, opening direction, or recessed door, you're in trouble. They say 60 minutes install; Pfff. 9.5 hours later and it was all installed because their instructions are too simple, way too idealistic, and no Troubleshooting options. Doesn't help that they change their identifying markers and object names throughout the video/instructions/labels, thus creating a frustrating time to install and calibrate
- Can be pricey, depending on what options you go with.
- the door randomly opens at times; no idea why.
- Forget about the phone
