Stop putting your head in the sand Ted's!

Ted's is still operating their business like its the 1990's. The retail landscape has changed dramatically in the last 10 years or so. Customers expect more discounts/sales; many will make their buying decisions without ever entering a camera store; at the click of a button, Ted's prices are comparable against every store in Australia, and in my experience, they always lose that comparison. Which brings us to the elephant in the room: Digi Direct (and to a lesser extent Georges) run a very aggressive business: they will run a 20% off sale the week before most other stores run their 10% off sale, so people have already bought their gear before Ted's even has a sale. Ethical or not, the harsh reality is that any camera business that doesn't adopt similar tactics, probably won't be around in 5 years (if that)

I purchased Sigma AF 105mm

I purchased Sigma AF 105mm f2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro, I only used a couple of times in very clean area . Yesterday I noticed that there are a number of dust inside of the lens when I changed Lens to Canon lens. Is this normal with a brand new lens ? Should a brand new lens be dust free?

Why?

I recently ordered a 2nd hand lens and a UV filter to fit it. I was contacted by the dispatch team and advised that the filter I had ordered wasn't available and couldn't be back ordered. I honestly can't understand why an item like that could still be ordered.

Don’t be in a hurry to get gear.

Sells stock they don’t have on website. Tells you a week later. This caught me twice. Page said in stock, not “special order” either. Got the screen grabs to prove it. The website lets the excellent service you get in store right down.
