I’m a working cinematographer and drone pilot. I bought the PolarPro Vivid Collection for the Mavic 4 Pro and tested them briefly before a job, but didn’t run every focal length. On the shoot, I used the ND16 on the 168mm lens for a big chunk of the day. The result? Completely soft, hazy, unusable footage.
The same shots with DJI’s stock clear filter are razor sharp, so the issue is 100% the PolarPro ND16 on the 168mm. It looks like a coating or optical defect. This cost me good footage and put my client relationship at risk.
PolarPro refunded me, but this product failed in the field and I’ll never use their gear again. I’ve switched to Freewell and will move to DJI’s electronic ND when it’s available. If you shoot professionally, I wouldn’t trust these filters.
