I had 2 goals with this purchase.
Goal 1 was to get my (then 12 week old) to nap in his crib rather than only on me in the sling. This took some perseverance but he will now nap in his crib the majority of the time. I found the sleep times very useful and it meant putting him down at the correct time so I wasn't fighting him over or under tired.
My second aim was to get better night sleep. This has been less sucesfull however I believe a large part of this is due to my little one (now 18 weeks) struggling a lot with trapped wind in the night and so he flails around and is very uncomfortable a lot of the time. We haven't managed to see any night time improvement and I have mostly given up on trying to put him in his crib for night sleep and just sleep with him in the bed with me as I was finding it stressful trying to settle him in the night and this way we both actually get some sleep.
So half successful but hopefully will set good daytime sleep habits for future.
Also, I was worried that I would find the nap timings restrictive but actually I've found them more freeing as i know when he is likely to sleep for a good amount of time in the middle of the day so if I want to be out for a walk or similar then I just make sure I'm out in time for the start of his nap and have him in the sling for the duration. Otherwise I just time going out for afterwards.
