M's Torrentshell 3L Jacket

I had the old model of this jacket for about 8 years (used it for hikes, bike commuting, getting around town in rain--including torrential), until the lining delaminated. This one seems to have all the good features of the old one plus a few improvements.

Love this jacket and used it within the first few days of receiving it. I'm 5'9", average build, size 32 waist and ordered the medium. This product is super light and kept me real dry in the rain. For cooler weather, I'd pair this with a sweater. The only thing I'd wish this jacket had was an inside pocket, but overall it's great and hope this jacket lasts a while considering the price point.

I wanted a transitional jacket to wear on my morning walks with my dog, particularly in spring and fall. This is the jacket. Add to that I can probably wear it in the winter with a warmer fleece underneath and its light enough to wear on those odd rainy days in summer. Really useful piece of kit. Only downside is its a little bit hard and noisy but thats a small price to pay.

This jacket really hits all the marks in what you'd look for in a rain/waterproof jacket! The interior of the jacket looks beautiful, you can really see the craftsmanship of Patagonia in the seam tape. Next, the hood has saved me on countless occasions. The sinch in the hood perfectly grabs onto my dome for those windy days - and it never feels too tight. The waterproofing material is also stellar. I love watching all the water bead up and roll off! And the final bonus? Packability!! Always keep this bad boy on me when theres a chance of precipitation. Would recommend to anyone who's looking for a rain jacket that will outlast the user.

Bought two jackets: medium size for myself and large size for my husband. Very happy with them, they worked excellent during out tour to Iceland in May, protecting us from the cold, wind and rain.
