The best security camera I’ve ever used

I’m a big fan of Eufy security products, I have numerous cameras around my house and they work great but this one puts the others to shame. I’ve owned several different brands over the years everything from Ring to Blink and even tried the Arlo but none of them have compared with this new camera from Eufy. The image quality is crystal clear even at night. The AI in this camera has eliminated all of the false alarms that previous cameras have been susceptible to. The tracking feature in this camera is nothing short of amazing! The dual cameras really make a huge difference. If you have Homebase 3 already (not required) then the AI will be able to recognize people in your household so that the camera won’t trigger a recording unless you want it to. Setup was a breeze. You charge the battery once before you mount it and the solar panel takes over from there. This is a self contained unit and has 8gb of internal storage, more than enough storage for a single family home. My camera picks up 30+ recordings per day and my battery remains full. They say that it requires 2 hours of sunlight to keep it charged but we’ve had a number of gray winter days or rain since my initial charge and yet I have never dipped below 94% battery strength so I suspect that it requires less than 2 hours of sun per day. It’s been very cold here in the northeast and this hasn’t affected the battery either. You can choose to record people only on all motion however once it gets dark out it records all motion regardless if you have it set to people only. My only complaint is that I wish I had purchased more of these when they were on sale during Black Friday. I will definitely purchase more of these. I have already told my friends and family that this should be on their list of must have items.

Solar/battery performance much better than expected

I've been switching away from Nest cameras as they seem to have stagnated since being taken up by Google. I've generally been very happy with the Anker family of products, so decided to give Eufy a try. I've been looking for a solution for my porch that doesn't require plug in power because my front porch is notably devoid of outlets. I had previously drilled holes to run USB power, but it's probably sketchy from a code compliance standpoint and unsightly. In any case, the combo of solar power and motion pan-tilt was enough to make me give it a try. When the camera arrived, I saw the small solar panel and after getting the camera set up (very easy), I was immediately skeptical that it would work. I live in Seattle, and the install area has only broken sun exposure. Seattle's winters are not exactly known for sun, so I was concerned that the motorized pan-tilt was going to be too much for the little panel to offset. I should not have worried. The power draw is surprisingly low, and the battery strength stays in the high 90% range even with my settings optimized for surveillance and a straight week of clouds/rain. I can see it actively charging even with indirect light path and densely cloudy skies. Time will tell how the battery holds up over time, but this has well-exceeded my expectations for power management. As far as overall performance, the picture quality is much better than my newer generation Nest cameras, motion detection has been accurate, and it connected to my home base without fuss. The speed of the pan-tilt could stand to be a little faster to track quicker-moving subjects but it does fine with people walking at a normal pace.I like this enough that I've already ordered a second one.

Works well

Good quality. Picks up sounds nicely. Faster tracking would help. But love the product great tech. Easiest installation. Already deterred car thieves!
