It was so peaceful. The perfect getaway to disconnect.

5th time coming last weekend. Stunning sunset, roaring fire, and a sky full of stars. Just pull up to your cabin and relax.

The getaway house experience has easily become one of my favorite things to do. It’s so easy to unplug and relax when they set up the environment to do just that. This time we went for Labor Day weekend and it could not have gotten any better. If you want to get technical, the cabin is always clean, there’s always everything that we need, and now, with the new general store collaboration with Walmart, it’s easy to even quickly go find something that I may have forgotten. The MachiMoodus State Park area specifically has so much to explore. So many hiking trails and little town finds that are so fun. If you’re going to this location, don’t miss out on exploring the little town of Chester that includes restaurants like Grano Arso and Honeycone Ice Cream Shop. Right in Moodus theres also Higher Grounds Café, such a unique breakfast/lunch experience too! I can’t wait to explore the other outposts and during other seasons! Thank you Getaway for making our experience incredible once again

The Getaway setup is just as described. Unit was immaculate and ready for us. Provisions available for a price or bring your own coffee or s’mores. Good amount of space between the tiny homes, about twice as much distance as a State Park setup, and it didn’t feel crowded.
