Getaway

This campground is not in a state park but very close to several state and county parks that are all spring fed and/or on the Suwanee River. The parks are popular with families (and individuals) for swimming and tubing down the river as well as playgrounds, cooking out, boating, etc. The springs are also very popular with cave divers (NOT open water). I spent part of my time at the various parks and the rest relaxing in my clean, comfortable trailer enjoying nature and the quiet. Loved it.

The cabins are totally cute! Everything you need. If you bring your dog, they leave 2 dog bowls and some treats (also human treats ie smore's kit)! The bed is super comfy, everything super clean, and it's nice to have campfire supplies right there next to your firepit. I do think it would be good to provide more detailed directions to the general Getaway site when you book. People should know that it is about 20 min away from Starved Rock park - not a problem but good to know. Close to Ottawa - cute little town with decent food and a couple of cute antique stores.

Loved the vibe & aesthetic! It definitely gave the peace i was looking for!

I can’t wait to go back when the snow has melted! I loved every minute of my stay in my fabulous tiny cabin!

Always look forward for getaway trips…nothing beats some peace and quiet, feels like I went on vacation.
