Generally, the books are great. Lately, however, they have been a little on the young side.

Feels like I’m getting delayed shipment notifications a lot. Also the sticker books are not useful, I can pick those up at any cvs… I prefer books that I’m not familiar with which is the point of the monthly charge… not stickers.

Some months are better than others but that’s to be expected. I’d like to see some more fun books in addition to the ones that are pushing an obvious message, albeit a good one. The storyline is important too and sometimes the attempt to say, different is great, for example, , is too obvious snd there’s not much of a story. My son sees right they that and finds it boring. Kids are smart and they want a good story, they’ll figure out the message on their own. Still, many of the books are great with wonderful illustrations and we get excited every time the box comes. Especially, in this covid time with libraries unavailable, this is a wonderful way to get fresh new books- and best yet, delivered right to your door.

I love the package that the books come in, it’s easy to identify and the process of returning the books is very easy. The customer service is always great when I need something. However, some of the books that I’ve received for my son who is 8 months old are overly convoluted or too simplistic (I.e. Amelia where she just disappears and the book ends). That story is a tragedy and seems inappropriate for children so young even with the understanding that with this subscription you can choose to send the book back at no additional cost. My daughter is 9 years old and her books are very short, she reads the books super quickly and is usually looking for more in a story. I enjoy the subscription, but I’m hoping to receive books that are more stimulating and age appropriate for my children.

I LOVE the book service but I really wish there were more age groups. 0-3 and 4-6? My newborn needs black and white simple board books and my 2.5 year old needs a good story but still simple. I love the process, we can’t wait to get our order in the mail every month and we’ve gotten so books we absolutely love. But we’re finding ourselves a little in between lately...
