ICAN is one of those
ICAN is one of those brands that has somehow remained pretty much below the radar when it comes to carbon wheelsets. I had been considering buying a set of full carbon wheels and had checked many brands, all mid range with prices around the €900-€1100 area. By chance I came across the ICAN name in the comments section of a cycling vlog on YouTube and after checking numerous reviews and watching the ICAN YT video from the factory I decided I’d take a chance on a pair of 38mm with the Sapim CX spokes.
I reached out by the contact form on their website to check if they had plain sets (i.e. no logo) in their German warehouse and got an almost instant reply. Even though there were only logo’d sets available the prompt reply and tone of the reply were very encouraging so I ordered a set, with logos, the following day, Sunday, I got an order confirmation within a few minutes and a DHL tracking number in less than an hour. The wheels arrived on the following Thursday in a good solid ICAN branded box. Well packaged and everything complete.
Took them for a short ride (running on Conti GP5000s at 100psi) on Friday then back to back races Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday the wheels hit a couple of speed ramps head on at greater than 40km/h and I managed to bunny-hop a couple more also. There were also a few very rough and bumpy sections of road yet the wheels remained perfect after the 2 races, still running perfectly straight and true.
I can only say good things about ICAN - the customer service, speed of delivery and quality of the product are all 100%. The price point, in my opinion, offers the very best value on the market today and I cannot understand how ICAN is not more popular. They are basically selling a top quality product at an ultra value price. I will be a returning customer and look forward to my next purchase (probably a frameset) from ICAN. Great company, great product.
