Shark Leah mini poor product & poor repair & return
I bought the shark leash mini for my 12-year old daughter for her bday. She picked it out. Purchased it online from Hansen, as I was trying to NOT fuel the Amazon beast and wanted to support small businesses. However, she wore it for one day, and the screen went blank. I contacted Hansen to get it replaced- to just swap it out for another one- via phone and email, and they told me I needed to go directly through Freestyle, the manufacturer. I contacted Freestyle, who told me it would take 2-4 weeks. I had to mail it to Texas, and they would repair it, and send it back. I told them that was ridiculous, couldn't they just send a new replacement watch. It took several emails to get them to send me a shipping label, since I don't think I should pay $6.95 for shipping (this is why I would suggest purchasing from Amazon because they make returns simple. I wont make the mistake of buying from Hansen or Freestyle again.) The Freestyle service rep (after several emails) told me it would be just a few days turnaround. I mailed it, it came back 2-weeks later. Again, the screen went blank. Then came back on... and it leaks. There is now water all inside the screen. I am so frustrated with this company. I mean, really? It's a surf watch. It has taken hours of time with reps, phone calls and emails. I don't know about you, but I'm busy. I highly recommend not getting a Shark and definitely not buying online from Hansen. Disappointed for my daughter and annoyed.
