This is my first foray into saltwater gear. I tried my Lamson Cobalt 12 WT out near inland Sarasota on some Snook and Redfish. The silky smooth guides, locking reel design, made me confident that if I were to hook a resident baby tarpon, I had confidence this could handle it. This 12 WT feels just like throwing my 7 and 8 WT Lamson rods. Super accurate, wind-resistant, and fun. Great price for a quality salt (and freshwater pike/musky) rod - highly recommended!

Excellent. The reel was made in China, but it's very good quality and has probably never been fished. Very happy.
