Is it wrong to spend so much time thinking about how good your legs feel?!
For perspective, I'm 65, 5'5" tall, weigh 155lbs. and wear size 9.5 shoe. I measured my calves (15.5") and I ordered 3 pair of the L/XL size compression socks to help with leg and ankle swelling from sitting for long periods at my desk job.
I loved how the socks made my legs feel, but there was so much fabrice that there were some wrinkles I couldn't smooth out, and the socks were too long and "cut into" and irritated the back of my knees. I
I packaged up the two unworn pairs to send them back to LT, and contacted Customer Service for some advice on size. Shellie thought that based on my measurements, I could wear either the S/M OR the L/XL, and she encouraged me to try the smaller size.
I ordered a pair of the Mocha brown socks in S/M and wore them for the first time today... I have to tell you they felt fabulous! They went up to just under my knee and stayed in place all day. No wrinkles... No extra fabric... I was just aware of their gentle yet firm "presence," hugging and supporting my legs all day long!
It's kind of weird to find yourself thinking about how good your legs feel off and on throughout the day, but that's what happened... :)
The only "downside" I see is that it will be tricky to "style" them for warmer weather. There's no way I can pull off the sporty "knee socks with athletic shoes and short shorts" look that's pictured on the Lily Trotter website. But at least for now, for the Fall and Winter, I'm good to go!
Thanks for your help, Shellie. I was going to give up on the compression sock idea, but I'm glad I didn't, because they definitely do help keep the swelling down!
