I turned 70 last year, and my 12-foot, 60-pound, hard-shell kayak was getting a bit cumbersome for transport on top of my 4Runner. After much research and careful consideration, I chose the Moki I R-Deck Inflatable kayak. It was the right choice in so many ways. It weighs half as much and packs into a well-constructed haul bag that can be carried (with back pack straps) or rolled on sturdy wheels. The kayak is impressively rigid when inflated and roomy enough to be comfortable without feeling like a frankfurter in a bun. With its 9 inch fin, It tracks straight with very little wag. The sewn-in accessory bag in the seat back is great for holding your bare essentials and the ease of set-up is remarkable. After a few sessions, it's out of the bag and into the bay in less than 10 minutes. And no more heavy lifting to the roof rack. Now I just pop the hatch and drop it in. It's the perfect solution for people who want to spend less time with racks and straps and more time with a paddle in their hand. Well done, Kokopelli!
