Stable and Functional
The Big Bar Pro is what I was hoping for. If you have shopped around for a stand alone pull-up tower and felt uneasy with the choices; go cheap and hope for stability or go expensive and hope you get your worth. This was worth it and stability is not an issue. .
The grip is coarse enough to hold for an extended period of time,
TRX and bands work great with the high bar. Dip angles allow for pinpointing the chest versus triceps. If you're 5'10 or under, it's perfect for dead hangs for lower back relief and delayed pull ups.
As for construction, instructions could use a little more detail, but doable. Block out your space first, it does take up about a 5ft x 4ft space and will need an 8ft ceiling. Would need a 10ft ceiling for muscle-ups. Plenty of space inside for a bench or plyo box, if space is limited. Keep everything loose until the dip bars are screwed in. Tighten everything and double back again, the metal is meant to be bent into place in some areas and the previously tightened bolts will need more love.
Overall, very happy with this purchase. The price could be a turn off, but you get what you pay for and gain motivation through committing to the purchase. If you want a versatile unit for calisthenics this could be very beneficial for anyone at any level.
