The best purchase I have made for my cycling, hands down!
I first discovered FasCat Coaching via the Podcast (if you haven't listened yet you need to!) while looking for some entertainment on my self coached rides. The longer I listened the more intrigued I became; wondering what improvement I would see with a plan created by experts.
I jumped into the 18 Weeks of Sweet Spot, in the Wyoming winter, on the trainer (dumb trainer) with just a HR monitor and some high stoke. After a few weeks, I purchased a smart trainer, then a power meter for my gravel bike. With each of these tools the improvement became more dialed. About the middle of the 18 Weeks, I stepped up to the coaching subscription and with the help of Isaiah saw/understood more of my progress. I stayed on the subscription through the 18 weeks of SS and the Gravel Plan but the thought was constantly in my mind: “if the plan accomplishes this much, what would a dedicated coach do for me?”
I started 1x1 coaching with Isaiah the week after my first ‘B’ race of the year (100M gravel with 9k climbing). Let me tell you, the plans are cool and do work, but a plan created specifically for you, WOW, it is incredible! I just wrapped up my first full block and we not only tackle zones but target specific subsets of a zone. There are areas that will play to my strengths while also targeting my areas for improvement, all rolled into a very engaging workout. I am carrying less fatigue from previous days and my rides are all trending faster. My peak metrics are getting reset on a regular basis, all while feeling less fatigue and excited about what the next workout holds.
If you have been on the fence about hiring a coach, I highly recommend it! This is absolutely the best decision I have made for my cycling.
