I have used these lanterns for camping and during a power outage, they are just fabulous. The one I purchased 3 years ago is still going strong. I buy them for gifts for others.

An earlier version of LuminAID was given to us as a gift several years ago. We used it for tent camping along the northern Great Lakes. This year I ordered one as an anniversary gift for our son and daughter-in-law (one that includes the charger) and an additional basic one to continue the tradition for us. It is stowed away with camping equipment but could be used in case of emergency here at home.
