BETTER, STRONGER, FASTER
This review is long overdue. When asked soon after purchasing my Elliptigo what I thought, my reply was, "it's not running".
I have at this point trained through 4 injuries (stress reactions, shin splints, a pretty good ankle sprain, hamstring injury) over the 4 years I've had my Elliptigo. Each time I was able not just to recover, but in just 2-3 months, to come back better, stronger and faster. Each time I thought, "this is it, I am going to run out of luck, it's downhill from here". Yet with each injury, I recovered incredibly well. With my last injury, I was unable to run at all for 10 weeks and only Elliptigoed. Yet once again, came back not just faster but faster than I ever thought I could be. This is how I know the kind of results that Elliptigoing brings.
I had purchased a road bike and trained through 2 injuries prior to the Elliptigo and could never get the kind of workout that Elliptigoing uphill delivers. Plus I felt much more secure on an Elliptigo in comparison to a bike- being able to jump off and not worry about being locked onto the bike/falling off the side of a mountain. The upright position is much more comfortable on the neck, back and bottom and braking is easier than the bike, especially downhill.
When not injured, I Elliptigo twice weekly to maintain cardiopulmonary fitness while giving my joints a break. We runners are accustomed to feeling beat up after running and there is an element of satisfaction in physically feeling that one has completed a difficult workout. Not feeling beat up and recovering instantly after a workout is something that I just had to mentally get used to.
Yes the Elliptigo is unwieldy and that is frustrating but overall, the results are worth it. Keri Cleeremans and the service/support team are fabulous- so helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable, talented, nice... I just can't say enough about them or the benefits of the Elliptigo!
