Nice way to give a gift that is useful and is not more "stuff" for the recipient

Being someone who is often late with organising stuff Shop for Life allowed me to deliver a message to a special person via internet on time in a place where the terrestrial post service is at best unpredictable. I know the donation made in the recipient’s name, so to speak, was much appreciated by her as I know it will be by those whose lives I hope to help make a little safer/easier. Job done on both fronts. No fuss

With Oxfam they send you the card to send to your friend. With Wateraid they send the card. So you're not completely confident that it's going to be sent and arrive on time. I think the Oxfam method is better.

Once I had found the site it was really easy.
