Repaired a Polybutylene drum kick pad
I have an older electronic drum kick pad (10 years old) that broke. The drum was still about $550CAD to replace so I wanted to look for a way to possibly fix it instead. I looked up the plastic material it was made from and it ends up it was Polybutylene, which is a Polyolefin so I thought the 'SuperTAC 500' would be the right choice. In doing a 'sample' spot on the back of the drum and letting it dry, I found I couldn't completely remove it, I managed to scrape some of it off but there seemed to be a base that melded with the plastic. So far so good. I had a high-temp glue gun and glued the back plate that had completely broken off. It dried extremely solid, a month of drumming later it's still holding like a rock. Great product! Two thumbs up. Btw, delivery was also very prompt.
