Optimum modem exact replacement, so far so good!

The Arris I received in 2 days after ordering it was the exact same as the Optimum modem except for the “Optimum” logo on the front. It was a plug and play replacement but I did need to engage Optimum support via a chat session on their website to provide some numbers off the new unit so they could recognize it. My Optimum tech couldn’t have been nicer. I returned the Optimum modem to one of their Stores where no questions were asked. I am saving $5.35/month and my new modem will have paid for itself in 10 months.

Perfect Modem!

I ordered this modem after having one installed by the cable company when I upgraded to faster internet speed as well as adding VOIP phone service. After installation, I noticed a HUGE improvement in phone service, as well as internet speeds. I immediately wrote down the model of the modem, and began my internet search. I discovered that there are at least three models of the exact same modem, under the brand names of Cisco, Arris, and Technocolor. But they are the same modem. After more research, I realized that Cisco made all three, so after discovering BUYYOUROWNMODEM.com, I bought the Cisco model. When I received it, and hooked it up, it worked perfectly. I immediately took the modem the cable company initially furnished me with, back to Comcast, and they gave me full credit for the week's rental, as well as a full credit for my installation fees. I am completely happy with this modem. I highly recommend it, even if you don't use the separate telephone circuit. The modem has two separate channels, one using 2.5Ghz, and the other 5.0 Ghz. So it is extremely fast. Great modem!

Great fast upgrade

Verizon does not work with other routers so this one is your best bet for the fastest router upgrade

Worked

Optimum user, plugged it in, went to browser to register and internet and phone worked right away, $50 vs. $4.95 per month rental... also brought a Tivo to stop paying $10+$13.95 a month for the cable box and while house DVR (was free for 1st year).
