Prometheus Lights

I have really been enjoying my Lambda top. It brings pleasure to spin it and forget about it. I use the base that Prometheus Lights recommended which is simply a shaving mirror (5" 12x magnification) and are on average seeing 11 minute spin times. I was happy with the 7 minutes that I was seeing at the beginning but have seen this increase with practice. The highest I have seen is 12+ minutes, but regularly can accomplish 10-11 minutes. It's a great piece of work.

Oh! Wait a minute, it is a top and one of the best ones yet. It seems like it spins forever (really consistently 7+ minutes) but I have gotten a little over 10 minutes out of it twice. I am still experimenting with spin surfaces (they do make a difference) and have found that an old glass ashtray is the best so far.

The design of this spinning top, really takes into account all of the 'physics' that make a top spin without any effort. All the 'energy' that you put into your spin, translates into 6,7 and even 8 minutes of spin. I can't begin to express the amazement that I get out of spinning this top and then just watching, watching and watching, wondering how many more minutes it will continue to spin.
