The Stones River and Tullahoma Campaigns: This Army Does Not Retreat

The text was very good, but the historical maps were abysmally inadequate and frustrating, i.e., small print made even smaller by small format of book. In fact all the maps in the book were pretty much useless for that reason. I had to resort to other publications to find useful maps or use a magnifying glass.

Warrenton

Too many errors, e.g., p. 31, "Burnsides" should be Burnside; p. 33, there was no "West Virginia" during the time of Brown's raid; p. 57, Newby was not the 1st to be 'killed during the raid,' but was a free black man who was a railroad employee; p. 63, Chief Justice John Marshall was long dead by time mentioned, even though some of his descendants were killed defending their state against an unconstitutional invasion by federalized Northern state militia units. More mistakes not mentioned, please be more accurate. Interesting pictures.

Oxford

Since I ordered the book on Western College for Women, I presumed that the Oxford volume that was recommended was for Oxford OHIO. Instead, I received the one on Oxford, GEORGIA.

Little Text! Pix haphazard.

(1) I was hooping that the books would contain more historical text. (2) The photographs seemed somewhat haphazardly arranged, without a lot of thought as to continuity.
