Silent Storm – The Most
Silent Storm – The Most Underrated Paddle Out There!
I started playing pickleball in January 2025 after years of tennis, racquetball, and squash. My first paddle was the Owl Founder’s Edition ($150) because I wanted something quiet for indoor play. It worked well indoors, but the edges wore down quickly when I moved to outdoor courts.
That’s when I switched to the Silent Storm for about $70—and I’ve been using it for over 10 months, playing 4–5 times a week. Here’s why I think this paddle is a hidden gem:
• Control & Spin: The Silent Storm gives me incredible ball control and spin compared to high-end paddles like Joola and Selkirk.
• Power: With my racquetball/squash background, I can generate plenty of power while keeping the sound stealthy.
• Durability: After months of heavy play, it’s still going strong.
• Value: My buddy tried mine, loved it, and now uses it exclusively over his $280 Joola. He even bought extras for backup! I just picked up a second one on sale for $50.
Honestly, this paddle performs like a premium model at a fraction of the price. I rarely see Owl paddles at Southern California courts, but I hope they keep developing the Silent Storm—it deserves way more attention. Highly recommend for players who want control, spin, and quiet power without breaking the bank!
