Hallo team Cowboy team, As
Hallo team Cowboy team,
As per last December, I can call myself the owner of a Cowboy. After 4 months of riding, I would like to share some feedback w/ you.
General
The bike rides super smooth. I adore the active rider position. It would be nice to have the option to higher the handle bars a bit, whilst keeping the active rider position. Also super safe when it’s raining outside. Great decision on the position of the motor. Great to have an open (rubber) chain guard. Not great that your clothes get stuck (and damaged) in it, including falling flat face the ground.
Lock
A bike of 3K plus should come with a physical lock. Even an analog bike of 150 euro comes with a lock. A bike without a lock can’t be used, as it gets stolen. It’s not a nice to have, it’s a must have. A second lock, because I’m biking around in Amsterdam, is on my account.
Battery
This is twilight zone. It is great that you can take the battery out. To charge it inside for example. Or to not have it stolen overnight. It must be great for the lifespan of the battery as well.
It is not great that it’s so heavy. Or that I should take it with me when having a business appointment, going to a restaurant or doing groceries. It’s simply too big and heavy.
App / Auto Unlock
More often, when I’m standing next to the bike (physically touching it that close), it doesn’t Auto Unlock automatically.
Movement detected
I keep on getting ‘new position’ / movement detected messages. Always when my bike is in exactly the same place. Often also when I’m in a (business) appointment, not close to my bike or abroad. Originally this caused stressed, now I don’t take it seriously. So when my bike really gets stolen, I will
Coating of the bike
The paint gets damaged easily. Not necessarily because of me being irresponsible but simply because of daily use; other bicycles touch yours in the parking, wind, etc.
The bike already looks a bit ‘raggedy’, wondering how it will look in a year from now on. The design element of the bike was an important choice when buying.
That’s it for now. Hope this helps and gives a bit of insight in my rider experience so far.
