Great Addition to my Painting Arsenal
So far I have been impressed with the Ceracolors. The paints have a lovely creamy texture that is almost like a cross between gouache and oils. The colors themselves are really rich, and far more intense than gouache. Not only are the colors excellent, but they will go a long way. They can be applied thickly but also work well thinned. I was delighted to see that , as advertised, that they do re-wet when you come back to the palette. I have not had chance to heat like regular encaustic paints yet. Overall, it is a great addition to my painting arsenal; I typically alternate between water-soluble oils, and gouache, depending on what I’m working on. (I’m really hoping Natural Pigments will one day have a line of water soluble oils too.) Overall I would highly recommend Ceracolors and look forward to adding other colors.
