Indispensable
When you first hold this tube you're struck by how heavy it is. It's the real thing. But let's go beyond that cool factor to why you need this color. As you tint your mixtures lighter with white, they go cold because white is actually a low chroma blue. To counteract that coldness you might add a yellow. Lead tin yellow dark is a warm yellow, semi-opaque, so especially if you're working with a lead white, it's just the hue to add to balance things out. Or if you just need a high value yellow, it works beautifully on its own. It has less tinting strength and less chroma than a cadmium so it's easier to work with. Rublev's lead tin yellow has lovely body and it dries fast because hey, it's real lead. Get it. You need it.
