Wonderful products and excellent website!

Mostly I am buying pigments and pigment dispersions for Egg Tempera, but I also work in oils and make silverpoint drawings and all these supplies are top-notch as well as being quite rare in this world of quickie art making. I also often consult the section of articles for understanding of an art-related issue as well as adding to my general knowledge of art. If I had lots of money I would buy practically everything I see on this website! Too bad I'm not a lottery winner.

Oleogel

I have been a longtime fan of Natural Pigments Oleogel medium and always include it in my materials list where I teach classical oil painting at UCLA Extension and the Kline Academy. It has the thixotropic properties of other gels but is slower drying and so doesn't start setting-up and getting sticky within an hour like Megilp or Maroger. Nor does it plasticky like Neo-Megilp. It makes the paint buttery and flow easily while holding the form of the brush stroke once the action is completed. It can be added to paint piles to slow the drying and lessen the formation of the oil oxidation skin that generally forms as the paint dries. This is particularly helpful if the paint is a little too thick. And on top of that it is non-toxic and competitively priced. What's not to like?

Traditional modern paint

It is great to be able to purchase traditional pigments, and mediums. These products are of excellent quality and the service is second to none. Their website is a treasure trove of information for the artist. You will be glad to visit and try their paints
