Lead White #1

I was really surprised that I would like Lead White #1 as much as I do after years of using Lead White #2 from Rublev. #1 appears to be creamier than #2 and is probably better for mixing into your paint as is without alteration. It is a warm white which makes really lovely & subtle transitions. #2 is thicker and stringy and is better for impasto effects. I think I will keep both on my palette going forward and am very happy with my purchase.

Transparent yellow oxide.

I used it as an under painting on a new canvas and as a glaze on a finished painting. Wow!! What a glow!! It gave the canvas and the painting a golden yellow shine. I love it, and even my art teacher loves it.And he wants to buy it for himself to use. Sue.

A Different Feel

These oil paints have such a different feel from that of other brands. The tubes are heavy with pigment and the paint itself lends almost a granulated feel while remaining buttery. Absolutely loving the difference and plan to purchase more materials in the very near future. The quality is certainly a cut above.
