I wore these for the first time on the first day of my period (BIG faith move on my end). I was out and about all day running errands and hiking and it was a particularly heavy flow for me. I kept awkwardly grabbing myself like a kid with a dirty diaper and running into the bathroom to check if I’d leaked, as I was certain I had… NOPE. Of course I did the “courtesy blot” every time I went into the bathroom just to help my undies out, but nothing got through! By the end of the day I was paranoid every 10 minutes or so that surely something had gone through. Let me tell you, it was a good 10 hours of intense blood flow with extreme clotting, and the thing that finally broke the camel’s back and caused a small leak was a clot that fell on the side of the side of the crotch/gusset after hours of sheer abuse.
I will say, once some blood gets over the side, no amount of blotting will take you back from the edge (no pun intended). So do watch out for that.
But while the bottom of my Modibodi underwear was completely full, the front and back panels were near pristine.
I wore them again the first day of my period the following month (which was more normal for me and had less clotting), and was able to put them on in the morning and SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT WITH THEM (back and front sleeper here) without leaks.
Take my money, Modibodi. You win.
