El Dorado Rum 12 Years Old 700ml
The El Dorado really needs to be drank alone, instead of with company. It's one of those rums best enjoyed without any interruption to one's experience of immense pleasure. The deep taste of the cask in the rum gives away the fact that it was made of very good wood. There is hardly any hint of a biting alcoholic taste. It's just pure smoothness on the tongue, and without much of a burning sensation as the drink goes down. It is quite easy to forget time and space once you have take the first shot. The next one soon follows, as does the next. Never mix it with a chaser! It will ruin the taste and the reason for spending so much on a classy rum. I prefer to put the bottle in the fridge for an hour so that the rum gets cold, without me having to add ice. If you like to taste the flavour of the environment that the cane was grown in, the quality of the distillation process, and the attention to detail in the 12 years of storage, you won't find a better 12 year old rum at what is a very reasonable price.
