Retail Aspect Great/HR Content Sub Par
Overall I was disappointed in the content of the conference. This was not well rounded (little to no content on Total Rewards or Compliance) and several of the speaker's were sub par compared to other conferences I've attended. Having everyone attending the same sessions all day long is hard to ensure that the content will be related to their organization. Only once were we able to break into groups based upon our organization's size, this was the most beneficial 20-30 minutes.
During the breakout session regarding compensation, there was no leader and when checked on that, it was a response of "oh no, this is for you to talk". The whole group was interested in that topic because they had questions, not looking for the blind to lead the blind. In addition the compliance panel, there were no experts, simple the doers, which providing advice to an entire auditorium is not a best practice.
Overall the content and flow of the conference is poor for the cost especially. This reminded me of a small town mom and pop conference that is put on in the simplest nature, not one that cost over 1,000 per participant.
Networking was great, however most felt similarly that the panels were a waste of time. They were so long, and not helpful. However some of the speakers that were actually great, didn't get to go as long. People also mocked the food as the breakfast set up with the vendors was uncomfortable.
While this is their 3rd year, I understand growing pains, but this was definitely not worth the money.
