FIMA conference 2019

Themes were governance, lineage, quality, and analytics which are all great topics. I would prefer to have multiple sessions to choose from (aka Tracks) which run throughout the day. Loved the keynote on emotional intelligence. Would have liked to have more time visiting the vendor booths. Networking opportunities where good. Breakout sessions were good. Breakfast and sessions started too early for me. I did not come to breakfast most days. Would prefer to start at 9am. Would also like breaks, at least 5 minutes, between the speakers. This could actually be a 4 day conference giving the amount of content and long days.

More use cases

The conference was ok. Presenters should provide more examples of the how they implemented governance/data management processes and results. There was a lot of talk around AI etc but no specific examples. We have been doing data quality for 3-5 years and wanted to know other techniques etc. Also, the titles of the sessions are very misleading. Presenters other than KMPG just spoke about general concepts. You have to many panels and not a lot of time to get to specifics. Instead of panels get more presenters that have real live examples

Did not find much value

Did not find much value in the panel discussions. The information was too high-level and there was not enough time to delve deep into any one topic. There were also too many panels. I would rather have attended fewer but longer sessions that focused on one subject matter. The Oxford-style debate was excellent and the two participants were engaging. I would have appreciated having more breaks throughout the morning and afternoon, even if they were short, like 15 minutes. On 4/2, it was too long sitting from 8am until after 1pm and then having lunch. I also thought the conference was very sales focused. I would have appreciated learning more deeply about certain topics and not feeling so "sold to".

FIMA 2017 in Boston

The overall conference had too much emphasis on Data Governance, which was not that useful from my perspective. Thanks and all the best, Alok

Day 1's Roundtables were too

Day 1's Roundtables were too redundant, the vendors focused on problems vs. allowing us to share our best practices. Day 2's highlight was TD Bank's solution. Day 3 was the most valuable day of speakers and topics. Next year please focus on Solutions and Best Practices vs. Our Problems...We know what our problems are and our problems won't always be fixed with a vendor solution.
